About the Author
Thomas Barbee graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2007 as a cinema studies major. While the site started out as something to help take his mind off of papers and other work, it has taken a life of its own in recent years. He has freelanced in the past for NewCity Magazine as well as for Bleacher Report, Baseball Digest Online, and other publications. He also began work as a web developer starting in April 2008. In February 2010, he along with fellow classmates Aaron Pinkston and Rachel Baron started the Film Gauge Podcast, a weekly film podcast that reviews the latest releases.
Attempting to put his cinema studies degree to good use, Thomas Barbee has also written and directed a handful of short films in addition to starting his own band, Soapbox Theory. A music, film, and pop culture junkie, his interests all throughout the arts as well as sports.
